London, July 2026 – Oyster Yachts has unveiled the new Oyster 515, the next generation of the British shipyard’s 50-foot luxury bluewater sailing yacht range.
Building on the award-winning Oyster 495, the new model combines proven ocean-going capability with increased interior volume, a larger sail area, contemporary styling and a completely redesigned aft deck inspired by superyachts.
Developed in collaboration with Humphreys Yacht Design and Oyster’s in-house Design Studio, the Oyster 515 has been shaped by feedback from owners and by the experience gained from millions of bluewater sailing miles.
A beach club-inspired aft deck
One of the most significant changes can be found at the stern, where Oyster has created a new beach club-inspired living area designed to provide a closer connection to the sea.
The redesigned aft deck combines aft-facing seating, a sunken lounge and a larger fold-down bathing platform. The space has been conceived for relaxing, entertaining and swimming while the yacht is at anchor.
Increased lazarette storage provides additional room for water toys and cruising equipment. Owners will also be able to choose between an integrated tender garage and conventional davits, allowing the yacht to be configured according to their preferred style of sailing and exploration.
Greater space and natural light below deck
Below deck, the Oyster 515 offers increased volume to support extended cruising and long-distance voyages.
Enlarged Seascape windows fill the interior with natural light, while Oyster’s signature deck saloon creates a bright and spacious central living area with elevated views of the surroundings.
The three-cabin layout includes a full-beam aft owner’s stateroom and aims to deliver the comfort, privacy and sense of space normally associated with a considerably larger yacht.
Designed for manageable bluewater sailing
Under sail, the Oyster 515 retains the performance and ocean-going capabilities traditionally associated with the British shipyard.
A revised sail plan, increased sail area, twin rudders and powered sail-handling systems are designed to provide responsive yet manageable handling for a couple or family, with or without additional crew.
New wing seats beside the helm stations provide an elevated vantage point while sailing, while an optional shoal-draft keel will allow owners to explore shallower anchorages and more remote cruising destinations.
“The Oyster 515 builds on the success of the Oyster 495 and everything we have learned from more than 50 years of designing, building and supporting yachts for bluewater sailing,” said Stefan Zimmermann Zschocke, CEO of Oyster Yachts.
According to Zschocke, the new model represents a purposeful evolution of Oyster’s 50-foot platform, combining ocean-going capability with a reimagined aft deck and a state-of-the-art beach club experience.
A new generation of Oyster sailing yachts
Oyster describes the 515 as the beginning of the next generation of its bluewater sailing yachts and the first step in a programme of new products and innovations that will be presented over the coming months.
The launch follows a period of continued activity for the shipyard. Oyster Brokerage recently completed the sale of two Oyster 885 yachts in a single week, while the company has continued to invest in its Global Service Network.
This investment includes the acquisition of a dedicated dock at Oyster’s Barcelona Service Centre, strengthening the assistance available to owners cruising throughout the Mediterranean.
In September 2026, Oyster owners from around the world will also gather in Palma de Mallorca for the shipyard’s 50th Regatta, celebrating five decades of sailing, exploration and community.
Meanwhile, the Oyster World Rally 2026–27 is currently crossing the South Pacific, with strong demand already reported for the 2030–31 edition.
Suitable for Mediterranean cruising while fully equipped for ocean passages, the new Oyster 515 combines greater living space, manageable performance and cruising versatility with the safety, strength and long-distance capabilities associated with the Oyster name.
